Adele Tweets Apology After Stage Rigging Hits Glasgow Concertgoer

Being an Adele fan is to know the depths of emotional pain. One fan at a recent show probably felt that a bit too literally. 

Some rigging came loose during Adele's concert Saturday night at the SSE Hydro venue in Glasgow, Scotland. A piece of overhead chain fell and hit the fan in the face, according to reports. The unidentified injured fan was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

"The safety of every member of our audience is paramount and we are currently working with the promoter's production team to establish why this happened and to ensure it does not happen again," a representative for the venue told the BBC.

Journalist Stuart Duffy, who was in the crowd, shared photos of the scene on Twitter. 

The singer seemed to be unaware of what happened to the fan and finished the concert without incident. After learning about the fallen rigging, Adele tweeted her apologies, assuring fans that the rigging was being "investigated."

The singer has one more show to perform at SSE Hydro before continuing her European tour.
