President: Argentinean investments in Armenia stand now at $400 million
YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. Argentinean investments in Armenia stand now at $400 million, President Serzh Sargsyan said today during a meeting convened to look into Armenian-Argentinean relations.
The meeting was attended by Armenian Ambassador to Argentina Alexan Harutyunyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov, Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan and other officials. According to the President, Argentina is the fifth largest foreign investor in Armenia.
"Armenia's relations with each country have their own characteristics. In case of Argentina, they are conditioned by a viable Armenian community. Thanks to Eduardo Eurnekian, (an Argentinean businessman of Armenian origin), our trade and economic relations are now at a good level and they are constantly evolving,” Sargsyan was quoted as saying by his press office.
The President also mentioned the performance of Eurnekian-owned Armenia - International Airports company, managing Armenia's Zvartnots airport, ensuring compliance with all international standards.
"Most of foreigners coming to Armenia get their first positive impression at the airport, which has become Armenia's visiting card," said the president.
As a good example of Armenian-Argentinean cooperation the president mentioned also the Converse Bank. The President said that the arrival of another of Eurnekian’s companies- Tango- to Armenia, specialized in tourism and hospitality is expected to create many new jobs .-0-
