YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. There is a great deal of still untapped potential  in the Armenian-Georgian relations, Gagik Harutyunyan, the head of Noravank think tank in Yerevan, told a gathering in Yerevan ahead of Georgian foreign minister Mikheil Janelidze's visit to Yerevan.

According to him, the countries have developed a rich legal framework for bilateral processes to develop.
Harutyunyan said also a study conducted by an international organization found that Armenians and Georgians are the closest nations in terms of values.

"Of course, there are problems concerning Javakhk -the Armenian-populated region of Georgia, which is  a challenge both for Armenia and Georgia. But they need to find an algorithm that will allow them  to move from challenges to cooperation,'  said Harutyunyan.

Socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian problems of Javakhk Armenians often become the subject of debates in the Armenian society. However, according to Harutyunyan, when the two countries combine their efforts, their work becomes more tangible and effective.

The gathering tiled "Armenia-Georgia: potential for cooperation and integration" was organized by  Noravank think tank, Integration and Development NGO, the Russian Association Znaniye (Knowledge) and some other organizations.-0-
