Revolution comes to village council on edge of Kyiv

Hours of heated debate and shouting. Loyalist, opposition and independent blocs of deputies. Pleas for compromise and dark hints of legal consequences for past wrongdoing.

This isn’t the Verkhovna Rada, however. It’s the village council of Velyka Oleksandrivka, where recently elected village deputies are giving the local old guard a taste of EuroMaidan-style activism.
