Paris Tourism Expo Notes Surprising Interest in Bulgaria as Holiday Destination
The organisers of the Paris world tourism exposition note that there is a surprisingly high interest towards Bulgaria as a holiday destination this year.
According to Le Telegramme, there is 106 % increase in the number of bookings for holidays in Bulgaria this summer.
More than 500 destinations are presented at the Salon Mondial du tourisme, which is taking place in the French capital between Thursday and Sunday.
The organisers are also noting a drop in the interest of tourists towards Tunisia and Turkey due to the recent terrorist attacks in these countries, while there is withdrawal from Greece due to the migrant crisis.
The tourists are expected to spend more this summer due to lower number of alternative destinations offering cheap and sunny holidays.
Among the most popular destinations this summer are Spain, Portugal and Italy.
