FTSE LIVE: Footsie rallies but still largely consolidates the week's gains as oil prices hold off 3 month peak

By mid morning, the FTSE 100 index was up 20.7 points, or 0.3 per cent at 6,221.8, having closed 25.63 points higher yesterday. For the week, the UK blue chip index is up around 1 per cent.
