Man convicted of drunk driving and hit and run collapses during break in sentencing hearing

A drunk driver who struck a Squamish senior, seriously injuring her, and then fled the scene collapsed outside court Thursday during a break in his sentencing hearing. Jan Marthinus, convicted of impaired driving causing bodily harm and hit and run, fainted and fell to the carpeted floor outside the fifth-floor courtroom at the Vancouver Law Courts.
