KZN cops nominated for National Excllence Awards

KwaZulu-Natal police have expressed their delight at the nomination of two of their members for the upcoming National Excellence Awards.

Cape Town – KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police on Monday expressed their delight at the nomination of two of their members for the upcoming National Excellence Awards to be hosted by the department of police.

“KwaZulu-Natal police are pleased that two of our members who have excelled in their duties have been nominated as finalists,” said provincial spokesperson Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala.

Mountain Rise police station’s Warrant Officer Ravie Pather and Constable Nkosiyazi Mntungwa from the KwaDabeka police station will be representing KZN at the awards and will compete with members nominated from other provinces.

Gwala aso conveyed the provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Mmamonnye Ngobeni’s congratulations to the members for “making the province proud and wished them luck in the awards ceremony”.

The awards, hosted by the department, is aimed at recognising and rewarding employees of the South African Police Service who have excelled in the performance of their duties.

“The annual national excellence awards ceremony is intended to motivate and inspire members to excel in the performance of their duties,” said Gwala.

The theme for this year’s awards ceremony is “Recognising and rewarding service excellence”.

The awards will be held at the Sandton International Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Friday.
