Three nabbed for stolen vehicle

Three suspects were arrested in Ladysmith after they were caught driving a stolen vehicle.

Ladysmith - Three suspects were arrested on Monday morning after they were caught driving a stolen vehicle, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane said the arrest happened during the early hours of Monday morning.

Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Ladysmith unit and the Ladysmith K9 unit were patrolling the city centre when they spotted a Ford Laser in Princess Street, Ladysmith.

“A quick check on the vehicle alerted police to the fact that [it] had been reported stolen at Hlobane, Vryheid, during December 2015,” said Zwane.

Police arrested the three occupants, all in their twenties, for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The three suspects are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
