Vision Vancouver councillor puts gender-equality on the agenda

A Vancouver councillor plans to raise the issue of gender equality at the city’s next council meeting, which happens to fall on International Women’s Day. Coun. Andrea Reimer will introduce a motion at Tuesday’s council meeting, setting out steps to “enhance gender equality including ensuring equal representation of women on City advisory committees, reviewing grants to provide more equitable service delivery, and updating the City’s 10 year-old Gender Equality Strategy,” according to a press release.
