|||King William’s Town - Police in Msobomvu have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly murdering his 34-year-old girlfriend, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
It was alleged that neighbours at Manona Farm, Butterworth, were woken up by the sound of a woman screaming just after 1am on Saturday, and rushed to the house concerned, Captain Jackson Manatha said.
Police were alerted and rushed to the scene, where they found the woman dead with multiple injuries all over her body.
The alleged killer was found inside the house with an axe, believed to have been the murder weapon.
