C-1: Pierce gets running on title defense in first-round win

Defending state champion Pierce used a 10-0 to close out the first quarter and maintained comfortable distance in a 48-38 win Thursday against Chadron in the opening round of the Class C-1 state tournament at the Devaney Sports Center.
