Boys basketball: Columbus Grove comes alive in second half to knock off Kalida

KALIDA — When a little motivation is needed, it’s nice to be able to turn to a program legend. For Columbus Grove, that’s Blake Reynolds, scorer of 1,583 career points during his playing career and the program’s junior varsity coach. At halftime of a Putnam County League matchup on Saturday, with the Bulldogs down 26-20 and looking lethargic, Reynolds challenged the team in the locker room to, in so many words, increase its effort and go out and compete.
