Pacifica football defeats Liberty to make return to the CIF-SS semifinals

GARDEN GROVE – It wasn’t pretty but Pacifica’s football team used a punishing ground game and an equally dominating defense to earn a 13-7 victory over Liberty on Friday in the CIF Southern Section Division 10 quarterfinals. The Mariners (8-3), who are going to the semifinals for the second year in a row, ran for 307 yards and abandoned the pass on a rainy night at Bolsa Grande High.
