I lived with Everton boss David Moyes’ mum and dad before going on to make more than 200 Premier League appearances

CHARLIE ADAM has revealed he once lived with David Moyes’ PARENTS as a youngster.

The former Scotland star, 39, kicked-off his career at Rangers before going on to play over 200 times in the Premier League with Blackpool, Liverpool and Stoke.

And Adam has lifted the lid on his living arrangements at Rangers – with Moyes’ dad, David Snr, working as a scout for the club, despite David Jnr starring for Celtic in his playing days.

Moyes Jnr, now 61, had already hung up his boots by this point and quickly moved into management with Preston – with whom he retired as a player – in 1998, before taking over at Everton in 2002.

Speaking on the “I Had Trials Once” podcast, Adam revealed: “I supported Dundee as a kid, my home team.

“Then I went to Rangers at 16, moved into digs… and funny story is that I end up living with David Moyes’ mum and dad.

“So old David was a scout at Rangers, but he used to have the younger lads stay in the house… there were four or five of us.

“And then eventually I moved in there and I lived in it.

“And my first ever flat I bought was off them.”

Adam continued: “David’s dad then moved to Preston with him in his house, well, on the lands of his house.

“And I bought the flat that they used to live in. And so then that was my first apartment.

“So I lived with them when I was younger and then I was like in the first team and everything and still living there.”

Adam – who retired in 2022 after two seasons with boyhood club, Dundee – is now reunited with Moyes as part of his Everton setup.

The 26-cap international currently works as the Toffees’ set-piece coach.

Adam, who was sacked as boss of Fleetwood Town in December 2024 after one week shy of a year in charge, took the role last month after Moyes’ rejoined the Goodison Park side following Sean Dyche’s axing.
