LeBron James shared a farewell message to Anthony Davis after the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade
It’s almost unheard of for the Lakers to make a move without LeBron James being involved in some way, but Saturday’s blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers was a shock to everyone — even LeBron.
Late Saturday night, the Lakers agreed to trade Anthony Davis to Dallas in exchange for Doncic. And while the Lakers are suddenly set for the post-LeBron era, it had to be bittersweet for LeBron to lose a teammate in Davis.
On Sunday, LeBron ultimately took to his Instagram Story to bid farewell to Davis, sharing a photo of the two stars together and offering a message to his now-former Lakers teammate.

The two spent the past six seasons together in Los Angeles, winning the 2020 NBA title during the bubble postseason. They’ll reunite in three weeks when the Lakers take on the Mavericks on Feb. 25.
