Galamsey fight: UTAG to vote on whether to suspend strike on October 29

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has announced that its members will vote to decide whether to suspend their ongoing strike against illegal mining, known locally as galamsey. The strike, which began on October 10 was initiated to push for a ban on mining activities in forest reserves, farms, and water bodies, amid growing concerns over the environmental damage caused by galamsey.
