Why did Joshua Filler get removed from the Reyes Cup?

Joshua Filler has been withdrawn from the 2024 Reyes Cup after changing his stance about boycotting the World Pool Association for banning Vietnam.

The World Nineball Tour put out a statement on their website that read: “Regretfully Joshua Filler has been withdrawn from the 2024 Reyes Cup due to concerns over contractual obligations and team integrity around the inaugural event.

“As the next player ranked highest on the Race to Reyes Cup WNT rankings, David Alcaide will join the European Team.”

A few hours later, WNT changed their announcement to: “Joshua Filler has been withdrawn from the Reyes Cup and will be replaced by David Alcaide as the next highest-ranked player.”
