Oregon and Ohio State mascots heartwarmingly made College GameDay signs for absent Lee Corso
If you had to choose two mascots synonymous with Lee Corso on ESPN’s College GameDay, the Oregon Duck and Ohio State’s Brutus Buckeye would be the obvious picks.
Corso absolutely loves both of them so dearly, he could consider them personal friends and no one would think twice about it. Which is what made Saturday so bittersweet.
As GameDay returned to Eugene for No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 2 Ohio State, Corso was absent from the show for the second consecutive week. Host Rece Davis provided an encouraging update on Corso’s health, but the coach’s presence was sorely missed — especially by the two lovable mascots who’ve allowed Corso to don their headgear on numerous occasions.
But while the two teams are set to battle Saturday evening, the mascots spent the morning in harmony, making their own GameDay signs sending well wishes to Corso. It was just the best.

Kirk Herbstreit told viewers he spoke to Corso earlier in the week and the coach picked Ohio State to win, but we won’t count that. We need the headgear on Corso’s head for any pick to become official.
