Fighters make weight for Amazon Prime Quadruple world title show!
Tomorrow at the Ariake Arena in Japan we get the first of two days of incredible action on Amazon Prime, with 4 world title fights taking place on the one show.
Today, ahead of their bouts, the men all took part in their weigh-in for the contests, and all 8 men made weight.
The main event will see WBA Bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue (20-1, 5) [井上拓真] battle with mandatory challenger Seiya Tsutsumi (11-0-2, 8) [堤聖也]. On the scales the champion was bang on the 118lb divisional limit, as he was in his title winning performance against Liborio Solis, whilst the challenger is just under the limit at 117.75lbs, incidentally the same as Inoue’s two previous challengers for the title.
In one of two vacant title bouts we’ll see former unified Light Flyweight champion Kenshiro Teraji (23-1, 14) [寺地 拳四朗] take on former WBC Flyweight champion Cristofer Rosales (37-6, 22) for the vacant WBC Flyweight title. Kenshiro came in for the equal highest of his career, matching the weight he was for his 2015 win over Katsunari Nagamine, at 111.5lbs. Rosales was bang on the 112lb limit.
Another Flyweight title bout will see WBA Flyweight champion Seigo Yuri Akui (20-2-1, 11) [阿久井政悟] make his second defense as he takes on in form Thai Thananchai Charunphak (25-1, 15). On the scales the champion was 112lbs whilst the challenger was 111.75lbs, which is the same as he was in his recent win in Nagoya over Kento Hatanaka [畑中建人].
The second vacant title bout will see the touted Shokichi Iwata (13-1, 10) get his second shot at the WBO Light Flyweight title as he faces Spanish fighter Jairo Noriega (14-0, 3). On the scales both men were bang on 108lbs for the bout.
