Stadium levelled, CSKA Sofia appoints contractor to build €45m new venue
September 24 – Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia has begun the second stage of the reconstruction of the Bulgarian Army stadium in Sofia. Following the levelling of the old stadium, the club is now preparing for the construction of the new.
CSKA said that after a “difficult process” in choosing a builder, the club has already signed a contract Bulgarian company Glavbolgarstroy Holding (GBS).
The new stadium, which will be built on the current facility in one of the largest parks in Sofia – Borisova Garden –will cost between BGN 80-90 million (€40-45 million).
