Mississippi State QB Blake Shapen (shoulder) to miss rest of season

Mississippi State quarterback Blake Shapen will need season-ending shoulder surgery after getting injured in Saturday's 45-28 loss to Florida.

Shapen completed 13 of 21 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown against the Gators before leaving the game early in the fourth quarter. True freshman Michael Van Buren Jr. took over under center and threw for 100 yards on 7-for-13 passing.
