Mexico boss Aguirre leaves door ajar for Vela, Ochoa

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Mexico manager Javier Aguirre has left open the possibility of recalling veterans Carlos Vela and Guillermo Ochoa ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Vela, 35, has not played for his country since the 2018 World Cup in Russia while 39-year-old goalkeeper Ochoa last represented El Tri in March this year.

"I do not close the door to anything or anyone," Aguirre told reporters
