DJ Moore Called Out The Bears Offense After Ugly Loss To Houston

0

It was as ugly as it could get for the Chicago Bears offense on Sunday night. If they thought the Tennessee game was frustrating, the Houston Texans showed them how far from good they truly are. The Bears managed barely over 200 total yards and allowed seven sacks on Caleb Williams. This was made all the worse by nine team penalties, most of them on the offensive side. It was a pitiful operation to watch from start to finish. One person who has already seen enough is DJ Moore.

The start Bears wide receiver had a decent game with 53 yards, but he was one of the lone bright spots. His frustration boiled over at the end of the game, knowing the Bears had squandered so many opportunities to win. Moore didn’t mind saying something after the game. He’s tired of the penalties and the inability to sustain drives.

DJ Moore has every right to be upset.

He can’t help the team win if his quarterback is constantly running for his life. The offensive line is performing far below expectations. If this team wants to learn to win, it needs to start by playing more disciplined football. They also need to live up to the intensity demands Eberflus talks about. This was the second week in a row where the Bears’ offensive line was constantly blown off the ball in the run game. Until they start fighting back and doing their jobs, Williams can’t help them.

If speaking out in public is a way to get their attention, so be it. DJ Moore isn’t usually known for saying such things to the media. The fact he did should not be ignored. He is frustrated. The wide receiver knows this team is good enough to make the playoffs. They have the defense. They have the firepower. All they need is adequate blocking to make it function. Right now, it’s not there.
