Sounds Like Raiders Fans Are Already Fed Up With Luke Getsy

0

The Chicago Bears felt it was necessary to make a change at offensive coordinator this off-season. While Luke Getsy had crafted a solid rushing attack, his inability to craft a decent passing attack led to Matt Eberflus making a change. Getsy was fired, and Shane Waldron was brought in to replace him. Apparently, not everybody thought that the former Bears coordinator was the problem. Not long after leaving Chicago, the Las Vegas Raiders hired Getsy as their new coordinator. It was a surprise to many and a clear message from the Raiders that they thought he wasn’t the problem.

That may have been a miscalculation. The Raiders’ opening day was rough. They scored only 10 points and committed three turnovers. It seems things haven’t gotten any better in week two. In the first half against Baltimore, they threw another interception and managed five yards on six rushing attempts. That is awful. The wildest part is that Las Vegas fans have already reached their breaking point with Getsy.

Such comments about Luke Getsy feel so familiar.

Bears fans complained about everything from horizontal offensive scheming to the unwillingness to throw the ball down the field for two years. It’s incredible to think the man has learned nothing. Then again, his quarterback situation there isn’t much better than it was with Justin Fields. Then again, Matt Lafleur didn’t make excuses after losing Jordan Love. He appears to be steering Green Bay to a win with Malik Willis, of all people. At some point, one must accept somebody isn’t good at the job they’ve been given.

Luke Getsy isn’t a bad guy. He’s said all the right things as a coach. Unfortunately, some guys aren’t cut out for the job. The Raiders won’t decide his fate after two games. Still, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before fans threaten riots if he’s not removed.
