England opened group play with a 2-0 win over Republic of Ireland. Declan Rice and Jack Grealish each scored goals in the victory as England controlled the game from the beginning.
Finland suffered a rough loss to Greece to open the group stage, falling 3-0. That included an own goal from Finland’s Benjamin Källman.
This is the first time these teams have met since March 2001 when England won 2-1 in a FIFA World Cup match. In 11 meetings dating all the way back to 1937, England has never lost to Finland, winning nine times and drawing twice.
In the last Nations League, England finished last in Group A3 with three wins and three losses, dropping the team down to League B. Finland ended up second in Group B3.
