Royals blank Twins to take over second place in AL Central

Cole Ragans struck out seven in six shutout innings as the Kansas City Royals beat the visiting Minnesota Twins, 5-0, on Friday night.

The win propelled Kansas City (77-65) past Minnesota (76-65) into second place in the American League Central.

Ragans (11-9) has 204 strikeouts, the most whiffs by a left-handed pitcher in a single season in Royals history and fifth-most in a seas
