NFL Survivor Picks Week 1: Avoid an early elimination with the Seattle Seahawks

0

Week 1 of any NFL Survivor pool might be the most terrifying of them all.

Frankly, there are just too many options. Too many question marks. Too many teams you just know you should save for later in the season. It’s enough to make you overthink everything.

Don’t do that! Let our panel help you figure this out instead.

NFL Picks Against The Spread: Expert bets for every Week 1 matchup

Each week this season, Robert Zeglinski, Prince Grimes, Charles Curtis, Christian D’Andrea and myself will attempt to briefly explain our survivor picks before the selection window closes.

We’ll be following Circa Sportsbook rules here, which means:

  • Each NFL team can only be selected once per each entry during the contest (AKA: Once you pick a team, you cannot pick them again later in the season)
  • Ties are losses — Only outright winners advance.
  • 20 picks total (including Christmas and Thanksgiving/Black Friday slates)

Here’s our expert picks for Week 1. Tail responsibly!

Blake Schuster: Seattle Seahawks (vs. Broncos)

Is it silly to waste the best home-field advantage in the NFL on a Week 1 game? Ask me again in Week 2. In the meantime, I’m planning on the 12th man defeating Bo Nix by itself (with some help from Mike Macdonald’s defense).

Charles Curtis: Seattle Seahawks (vs. Broncos)

A fairly easy pick this week. Seattle at home, against a rookie QB, and a Seahawks team you may not pick much this year.

Robert Zeglinski: Seattle Seahawks (vs. Broncos)

A tough secondary against a rookie QB in his first start on the road. Seattle better be careful about front-running once this game gets out of hand

Christian D’Andrea: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. Commanders)

I’m also in on the Seahawks, but if you’re looking for a less-backed alternative, may I give you the reigning NFC South champions vs. a rookie quarterback and 2023’s second-worst team?

Prince Grimes: Buffalo Bills (vs. Cardinals)

Some people may be hesitant to burn a Bills pick this early in the year, but I’m simply not as high on the Bills as others. This, however, is a game they should win with ease at home against a young Cards team traveling East.
