Venables Meets the Media as Fans Meet the Sooners
Norman, OK - A tell tale sign football season is near is OU hosting Meet the Sooners. OU players signed autographs and took pictures with fans for a couple of hours Saturday at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
A break from the grind of fall camp where OU just wrapped up their third day of practice. Brent Venables broke down what he's seen from his team so far saying he's been focused on execution. He added that the depth of his team seems to be a bigger positive than it was last season.
The third year head coach also offered up some injury news and notes saying that defender Dasan McCullough is being held out with a toe injury as of now. Wide receiver Andrel Anthony isn't fully back from his torn ACL, but is running routes as the season draws closer.
OU is breaking in not one, but three new coordinators this season. Venables said that the relationships Seth Littrell and Joe Jon Finley have with the offensive coaches have helped make this transition smooth for each as they shape the offense. As for the defensive side of the ball, Zac Alley has had a seamless transition as well due to the verbage he already knows given his relationship with Venables.
OU continues fall camp Sunday as they face Temple Friday, August 30th in Norman.
