Meet Noah Lyles, six-time World champion and Netflix Sprint athlete chasing elusive gold medal at Paris 2024

NOAH LYLES will be in action for Team USA this summer at Paris 2024 and will be gunning for medals.

Lyles, 26, will be competing in the men’s 100m and 200m event as well as the men’s 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay.

The sprinter will be looking to build on his bronze medal success in the 200m event at Tokyo 2020 with an elusive gold medal in France.

And the American makes a strong case as he also boasts six world titles and four Diamond League Final trophies.

Lyles dominated at the 2023 World Championship in Budapest, where he retained his 200m crown from 2019 and 2022 to complete a stunning three-peat.

Who is Noah Lyles?

Noah Lyles was born on July 18, 1997 in Gainesville, Florida to a sports-loving family.

Lyles started his track and field career at the age of 12 as a youth gymnast.

The runner’s parents, Keisha Caine and Kevin Lyles, were track and field athletes at Seton Hall University.

The Team USA star rose to prominence at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games where he won a gold medal in the 200m race.

Lyles also won silver at the Under-18 World Championships as a youngster.

Usain Bolt admiration

Noah Lyles is a huge fan of sprint legend Usain Bolt, so much so that he wants to break the Jamaican great’s longstanding records in the 100m and 200m events.

Lyles said: “I’ve always known that I’m the fastest man in the world.

“Well, in my head, I think I’m going to break it. I’m planning to break it.”

Lyles is also planning to win a staggering four gold medals in all of the events he’s competing at Paris 2024.

Beyond track and field

Noah Lyles advocates for elevating track and field’s marketing presence.

Lyles is aspiring to raise athletics‘ profile to the level of other major sports.

The American has also become a vocal advocate for mental health awareness.

The Team USA superstar openly shared his struggles with mental health in 2020.

Lyles is also part of the new Netflix show SPRINT, which premiered on July 2.

The limited series follows seven athletes in their competitive journey to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Those athletes are Sha’carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson, Zharnel Hughes, Lamont Marcell Jacobs, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson.
