Angels 3B Anthony Rendon (back) returns to injured list

Oft-injured Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon is inactive again.

The team placed Rendon on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, retroactive to July 27, because of lower back inflammation.

Rendon, 34, has only appeared in 33 games this season. He missed 2 1/2 months because of a hamstring sprain, returning in early July to play 14 games before sitting out Saturday
