Arike Ogunbowale miraculously turned her own rebound into a step-back 3-pointer
Arike Ogunbowale has been on the other side of some wild plays this WNBA season, but her latest feat might truly be the most head-scratching of them all.
Earlier this month, during an Aces-Wings matchup, Aces forward Alysha Clark hysterically inbounded a pass to Arike without seemingly even thinking about it. Arike seemed stunned by that but immediately took advantage and heaved up a shot.
But if you thought that was wild, Arike’s latest “Did that really just happen moment?” might make you do a double-take. During Thursday’s Wings-Sky matchup, she stole a ball, missed a wide-open transition layup, recovered her own rebound and then casually tossed up a contested step-back 3-point shot. Swish. WHAT?!

Fans immediately started commenting on how bizarre, but on-brand, the whole sequence was. This is what they said:

Arike missed a wide open lay up the nearest defender maybe on the other side of the court proceeds to get her own rebound goes to the 3 basically does a fadeaway side step 3 *no one is defending her* and makes that

Arike just smoked a transition layup with no one around then got her own rebound and drained a pull-up three. pretty much sums her up
