8 bets for JJ Redick as Lakers head coach, including odds for how long he lasts and what happens with LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers finally have their new head man in charge, and it’ll be JJ Redick, as had been teased for several weeks prior.

Redick and the Lakers agreed on a four-year contract to bring the former Duke star and 15-year NBA veteran from the broadcast booth to the sideline as a first-time head coach, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported. The deal ends a winding search that once appeared to end with UConn’s Dan Hurley, before coming back to Redick in one of the more weird reporting conflicts we’ve ever seen.

There’s still plenty to be ironed out for the Lakers, such as a new deal for LeBron James — who’s expected to opt out of his contract this summer. And there’s also the NBA Draft and figuring out what to do with Bronny James, who LeBron has said in the past he wants to play with.

Now that the Lakers finally have a coach, we can begin looking into some of those things and putting hypothetical odds and lines together for what we can expect from LA going forward.
