Canucks D Filip Hronek inks 8-year extension

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek signed an eight-year, $58 million contract with the team.

Hronek, 26, was due to become a restricted free agent at the end of June.

Hronek recorded career-high totals in assists (43), points (48) and rating (plus-33) in 81 games last season. The Canucks acquired Hronek and a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft from the Detroit Red Wi
