Jake Paul vs Mike Perry official for July 20
Mike Perry is 5-0 in bare knuckle boxing
With his much-reviled Mike Tyson showdown delayed to November while “Iron Mike’s” body desperately tries not to shatter into a million pieces, Jake Paul will meet MMA veteran turned bare knuckle star Mike Perry on their original July 20th date.
Perry (0-1 boxing, 14-8 MMA, 5-0 bare knuckle) enjoyed immediate viral fame in the UFC thanks to a mix of hellacious knockouts and a mental state best described as “two feet to the left of reality.” Before long, however, Perry’s technique deteriorated to the point where he lost seven of his last 10 with the promotion and parted ways following a 2021 decision defeat to Daniel Rodriguez.
A year later, Perry turned his attention to bare knuckle, which appears to have been his destiny all along. His current run has seen him upset vaunted striker Michael “Venom” Page, rearrange former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold’s teeth, beat down former Bellator and UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, and most recently stop Thiago Alves in 60 seconds last April.
He is, on paper, the most fearsome of Paul’s (9-1, 6 KO) MMA pulls. Though he competed at 170 in the Octagon, he’s fought more than once at the MMA middleweight limit of 185 pounds, so he shouldn’t be hugely smaller than Paul compared to the likes of Tyron Woodley.
Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KO), slated to rematch Katie Taylor on that November show, will stay busy against Stevie Morgan (14-1, 13 KO). Morgan’s streak of six consecutive first-round knockouts is undermined by the fact that four of her Colombian victims sport a combined 43 stoppage losses.
Tony Aguilar (12-0-1, 4 KO) also meets Corey Marksman (9-0-1, 7 KO) in a delayed rematch of their February draw.
