Scotland Euros fan sent to ‘abandoned dungeon’ from a ‘murder film’ in Germany as they blast Booking.com’s £2k hellhole

A SCOTLAND fan told of his horror after his accommodation for Euro 2024 turned out to be an “abandoned dungeon”.

Rory Bradley, 28, was one of around 150,000 Tartan Army revellers travelling to Germany to watch his home nation.

But the trip turned into a “nightmare” when the Scot and his three pals turned up at a property resembling “something out of a murder film”.

Rory, from Glasgow, says the group were given alternative accommodation from Booking.com after the initial place they had reserved turned out to be “an absolute mess”.

After three hours of trying to agree on a solution with the online travel agency, the pals walked across the city late at night to find their alternative property.

But the group were left horrified upon arrival at their new digs.

They discovered they had been sent to an “abandoned medical facility” with hospital beds, industrial equipment and even a huge axe.

Rory said: “We made our way into the property and we’re greeted by industrial equipment, exposed chemicals, exposed cables and exposed pipes.

“To top it all off, there was an axe that looked like something out of a murder film.

“We made our way through the rest of the gaff and continued to find hazard after hazard including access to a generator room.

“We got to the other end of the property and there was a serious smell of damp.

“To top it all off the front door wouldn’t lock and there was absolutely no chance we were going to sleep here so we phoned Booking.com.

“We spent two hours on the phone only to be told that the only way to resolve the issue would be for us to pay for a new place and invoice them.”

Videos posted on X, formerly Twitter, show a dark room filled with pieces of wood, bed frames and industrial equipment.

The bizarre property is full of construction tools and shelving units.

The group have been left fuming after forking out £2,000 on the trip, not including flights and spending money.

Rory added: “We left the apartment and booked a hotel for one night (which is on Booking.com by the way) but we can no longer afford to stay here without help from Booking.com.”

He later confirmed the group had managed to source accommodation for the remaining four days in the Cologne area.

A spokesperson for Booking.com said: “This is not the experience we would want for anyone booking a stay on our platform and are in touch with the customer, so we can look into what happened and to make sure they are properly supported.”

It comes as tens of thousands of Scotland fans hit the roads and railways from Munich to Cologne as a Tartan Army convoy travelled in hope of a Euros resurrection.

Scotland got mauled in Munich in a demoralising opener defeat against Germany.
