Celtics' Derrick White flashed a big grin after chipping his tooth on the NBA Finals court
Boston Celtics guard Derrick White wasn’t about to let a chipped tooth keep him from smiling as his team got closer and closer to an NBA title on Monday night in front of the home crowd.
While making a play for the ball against Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II during Game 5 of this year’s NBA Finals, White smashed his face into the court and chipped one of his front teeth.
It looked quite painful in the moment, but White was all smiles after with his chipped tooth on full display.
Talk about quite literally taking one for the team with a championship on the line!
As soon as the Celtics got Derrick White I raved about the culture fit because he’s a hockey player at point guard.
He’s genuineuly willing to get his face smashed in to accomplish the team goal.
May be missing a tooth, didn’t miss a play. What a dude.pic.twitter.com/T38B3GfmEi
