It all happened in typical “Tank” fashion, with Davis starting deliberately to put it nicely, slowly
“I was a little rusty, but it was OK, I’m back,” Davis said. “His foot work wasn’t bothering me, and I knew he was going to tire out. Once he tired himself out, I started picking him apart.”
Asked when he’d return and against whom, Davis replied, “I just want to get back in the gym and stay focused. But (Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, and Pitbull Cruz) are on my radar.”
“I felt like in the beginning I was in control, then I got a little too comfortable chilling on the ropes,” Martin said. “Once I stopped doing my movement, he was able to land more shots.”
“I just didn’t see the shot,” Martin said of the knockout.
