A police officer put Scheffler in handcuffs after an apparent misunderstanding over traffic flow outside of the club.

Scheffler is said to have stepped out of his car and was immediately shoved against a police car before being detained in a police car.

When is Scottie Scheffler’s tee time?

Scottie Scheffler was originally scheduled to tee off at 8.48am ET (1.48pm BST).

But the entire field’s tee times were delayed by an hour and 20 minutes after a major incident occurred before Scheffler’s arrest outside Valhalla Golf Club.

Scheffler’s new tee time will be at 10.08am ET (3.08pm BST).

If Scheffler is unable to make his tee time, he will have to LEAVE the competition.

Louisville police say have confirmed that a man was hit and killed by a shuttle bus outside the course and a road was closed.

The PGA then confirmed the second round would be delayed after the serious incident.

Moments later it emerged that Scheffler had been arrested, according to reporter Jeff Darlington.

Darlington tweeted: “World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler has been detained by police in handcuffs after a misunderstanding with traffic flow led to his attempt to drive past a police officer into Valhalla Golf Club.

“The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler’s car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla.

“The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs. He is now being detained in the back of a police car.”
