Wolves 1 Crystal Palace 3: Oliver Glasner’s Eagles continue stunning run as Eze, Olise and Co eye top-half finish

CRYSTAL PALACE’S red-hot attackers ran riot once again to down wobbling Wolves.

Five days after smashing four goals past Manchester United at Selhurst Park, Eagles trio Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze inspired a fifth Prem win in six.

In the space of two first-half minutes, Olise netted his 10th goal of the term before Mateta made it six goals in his last five outings – adding to their strikes against the Red Devils.

Olise then teed up Eze shortly after Matheus Cunha’s VAR-assisted, 68th-minute effort.

Naouirou Ahamada’s 84th-minute sending off – having come on for the injured Will Hughes in the first half – proved inconsequential.

Gary O’Neil’s men have won just one of their last nine Prem games.

Oliver Glasner’s in-form Palace are now within two points of the top 10 with a sixth victory in 12 games since the German coach took over in late February.

Palace were unchanged from Monday night’s 4-0 thumping of United.

O’Neil made one switch for the hosts – Matt Doherty in for Hugo Bueno – and was forced into another with goalkeeper Jose Sa falling ill during warm-up ultimately getting replaced by Dan Bentley.

Back-up Bentley was thankful in the early stages for Palace’s initial lack of killer instinct.

Eze and Olise squandered glorious opportunities before the latter found his shooting boots in the 26th minute with a curling beauty into the far corner.

Wolves’ defenders had clearly not watched Palace’s demolition job of United, allowing Olise to cut in onto his wand of a left foot before the former France youth international rippled the net.

More sloppiness at the back gave Palace a quick-fire second as Olise drove into the box unchallenged and dinked over Mario Lemina and Toti for Nathaniel Clyne to smack the post.

Mateta tapped in the close-range rebound, briefly sparking a tame Wolves fightback as Doherty’s header hit the bar.

O’Neil reacted by hauling off Boubacar Traore for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde at the break, but it was Cunha who finally got Molineux bouncing, firing into the roof of Dean Henderson’s net.

The offside flag went up only for VAR to judge Hwang Hee-chan onside in the build-up.

Cunha then thought he had won a penalty late on – earning Ahamada a second yellow, yet VAR deemed the foul outside the box.
