WBO Regional Belts at Stake in Mandaue City

MANDAUE CITY,CEBU,PHILIPPINES - Unbeaten flyweights Ramel Macado (8-0, 4 KO's) and Lorenz Dumam-ag (9-0-1, 6 KO's) are set to do battle for the WBO Oriental flyweight title on May 1st.
Macado turned pro in 2022 and is coming off two stoppage wins. Dumam-ag, who turned pro in 2019, is also coming off two back to back wins by the stoppage route. Macado weighed in at 111.1 lbs while Dumam-ag stepped on the scales at 111.6 lbs during the official weigh in held Tuesday at the Bai Hotel in Mandaue City.
Two time world title-holder Vic Saludar (24-6,14 KO's) will be pitted against Thailand's Sanchai Yotboon (14-7, 9 KO's) for the WBO Oriental mini-flyweight title. Saludar weighed 103.4 lbs while Sanchai was at 104 lbs. Saludar has captured the WBO and WBA world crowns but his reigns were both short lived. A win here could boost his chances of another world title shot.
On the distaff side, three time world title challenger Casey Morton Croft (12-4-3,4KO's) of the U.S will face Peeyalux Sanpokang (6-2,5 KO's) of Thailand in a non-title contest. Croft stepped on the scales at, 115.2 lbs , Peeyalux - 112.8 lbs.
World ranked Ian Paul Abne will trade punches with Darwin Boyones for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) light flyweight belt. Abne weighed 103.9 lbs 103.9 while Boyones was at 105 lbs.

The Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex is one of the traditional big fight venues in the island of Cebu. But big time boxing cards here in Cebu have been few and far in between for the past three years. The Labor Day fight card is a step in the right direction.
