Houston’s big signing María Sánchez sold to San Diego as NWSL transfer window closes
April 23 – Mexico forward María Sánchez, who signed a $1.5 million contract for Houston Dass in the NWSL, is already on the move, just five games into the season.
Sanchez is transferring to the San Diego Wave for $500,000 (her contract is held centrally by the NWSL). It is the largest transfer between NWSL clubs in the league’s history.
The deal was confirmed just before last Friday’s NWSL transfer deadline day.
