Stefon Diggs reportedly paid a ton of money to get his new Texans jersey number
So long to No. 14 for Stefon Diggs. That’s in the past for the new Houston Texans receiver whom the franchise acquired in a trade earlier in the week.
The number he wore in Minnesota and Buffalo currently belongs to Alex Bachman, but maybe he just wanted a fresh start. So he reportedly asked new teammate, safety Jimmie Ward, for No. 1. And as is the tradition, Diggs reportedly gave him something for it.
That something? That would be “roughly $100,000,” per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. Given the money Diggs is making this year and probably in free agency, he could afford it!
Sometimes when there's a jersey number change in #NFL, it comes at a price. New #Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs obtained the No. 1 jersey from veteran safety Jimmie Ward, for roughly $100,000, per league sources @KPRC2 And Ward is back to No. 20, his old #49ers number @KPRC2
