Oakland A's to DROP the city from its team name - and become simply the 'Athletics' - after announcing decision to play in West Sacramento for three years before permanent move to Las Vegas

On Thursday, the organization confirmed that the team will move out of the Bay Area in 2025 and temporarily reside in Sacramento. Their detour will stretch to at least the 2027 season.
