Mets name Jose Quintana as Opening Day starter

The New York Mets named veteran left-hander Jose Quintana their Opening Day starter on Wednesday.

The Mets start the season at home on March 28 against the Milwaukee Brewers. Freddy Peralta was tabbed by the Brewers to start.

Quintana, 35, is 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA in three starts this spring. He went 3-6 with a 3.57 ERA in 13 starts last season. He missed half of the season with
