Mac Jones trade grades: Who won the Patriots and Jaguars deal?

Everyone knew Mac Jones would no longer be the New England Patriots’ plan at quarterback.

That’s what happens when you’re unquestionably one of the worst players at your respective position. Admittedly, it’s still a little jarring to see it officially come to an end with a whimper.

On Sunday morning, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots officially finalized terms to trade Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former first-round pick will now be the backup in Jacksonville while New England presumably prepares its landing pad for a new starter acquired in this year’s NFL draft.
