Joseph Parker: net worth, career earnings and boxing record explained

0

JOSEPH Parker has earned an impressive boxing record throughout his time in the ring.

But what is it and what is his net worth? From his boxing bouts to the fortune he has amassed – here’s everything you need to know about Joseph Parker.

Joseph Parker has achieved sporting success throughout his career

What is Joseph Parker’s net worth?

Joseph Parker, born January 9, 1992, is a professional boxer who hails from New Zealand.

According to various reports, Parker has amassed a net worth of over $5 million, or £3.9 million.

However, some estimate Parker’s career earnings to be an even higher sum, considering he had a $13.1 million payday for his world title fight against Anthony Joshua in 2018 – despite not winning.

Parker’s 2018 fixture against Dillian Whyte saw him earn significantly less than his fight against AJ, at around £1 million.

Reports also suggest that Parker went away with £2.5 million after his 2021 fight with Derek Chisora

What is Joseph Parker’s boxing record?

Joseph Parker’s heavyweight boxing record stands at 34-3-0.

The boxer made his debut in 2012 against Dean Garmonsway winning with a TKO.

Parker, he’s got good footwork, he’s got probably better defence, he’s tough, he can hit hard as well.

Joe Joyce

Parker then lost against Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua, both by unanimous decision, in 2018 – and another loss came in 2022 in a fight with Joe Joyce, by KO.

Incredibly, ahead of his clash with Joyce, fellow boxing legend Tyson Fury gave his house to Parker to stay in while he trained.

Parker made the decision to trade his Las Vegas base for Morecambe after linking up with coach Andy Lee – on the advice of Fury.

He previously explained: “This is the third camp with Andy. So we’re learning, I feel like I’m learning more. I feel like he’s added a few more things to my game.

“Tyson’s giving me his house, like, just the whole set up and everything that we have to make it a great camp has happened.

“So there’s no real excuse. If I go into this fight for me, I’m going to win because I’ve had the best camp.

“And, you know, just being realistic, if I don’t win then I’m not good enough.”

In December 2023, Deontay Wilder suffered a shock defeat to Joseph Parker with the New Zealander scoring an impressive points win in Saudi – just moments before AJ stopped Otto Wallin.

In addition to this, Parker has also competed at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, winning a silver medal, and at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, where he placed 5th.

Throughout the course of his career, Parker has also received a number of awards, including the New Zealand Pacific Island Sports Emerging Talent Award in 2011, the Order of Merit of Samoa in 2016, and the 2017 Counties Manukau Sporting Excellence Sportsman of the Year award.

With an impressive record under his belt, Parker is returning to the ring once more in March 2024, after it was announced that he would be facing Zhilei Zhang on the undercard of Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou’s blockbuster bout.

He comes into the bout having stunned Deontay Wilder in December and in turn KOing his clash with AJ.

Meanwhile, Zhang is coming off two stoppage wins over Joe Joyce and currently stands as the WBO interim champion.

Ahead of the clash, Joyce told SunSport: “If Zhang can hit him like he hit me, obviously Zhang.

“But Parker, he’s got good footwork, he’s got probably better defence, he’s tough, he can hit hard as well.

“It’s a different fight. He might be better at dealing with southpaws and have a better game plan to beat him.

“So I’m really intrigued to see what the outcome of that fight will be and that’s the thing, boxing is about entertainment and entertaining fights.”

The undercard will be shown live on DAZN PPV and Sky Sports Box Office.

You can live stream all the highly-anticipated action from the DAZN and Sky Sports Box Office websites as well as their apps, both of which are available for download onto your mobile or tablet device.
