Bad Beat: Over bettors in UT Arlington-Seattle game lost on buzzer beater that wasn't counted
We’ve officially turned the calendar to March, which means March Madness is rapidly approaching — and with that comes buzzer-beaters, upsets and general betting pandemonium.
It also means a plethora of bad beats for bettors.
This one, which occurred when the clock was still in February, had to do with the total in a Texas-Arlington vs. Seattle game in which the total was 144.5
With the score UT-Arlington 82, Seattle 62 and under five seconds left, the game was comfortably in hand. However, a UT-Arlington player felt he needed one more basket, so he went in for an uncontested layup and appeared to make it with under a second remaining.
The officials did not agree.
An all-time bad beat
This last second basket in UTA-Seattle clearly went in before the buzzer.
However, the referees did not count it and the final score was 82-62…

It wasn’t counted, which made the final score 82-62, and the game stayed under by half a point.
Brutal.
