Jaxon Smith-Njigba Is Brutally Honest Regarding Shane Waldron And Justin Fields

0

In a recent interview conducted by CHGO Sports, Adam Hoge and Mark Carmen had the opportunity to chat with Jaxon Smith-Njigba from the Seattle Seahawks and Chris Olave from the New Orleans Saints. Both former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receivers who played with Justin Fields in college. While the conversation was generally fun and relaxed, there was a notable moment when they were asked about the potential impact of the new offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, on Chicago and quarterback Justin Fields. Chris Olave’s reaction, or rather his lack of response, raised some concerns.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba silence was loud

One might interpret JSN’s reaction as that of a rookie wide receiver disappointed in the lack of involvement in the game plans in 2023. With players like Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf commanding attention in Seattle, it’s understandable that he may have felt neglected by Shane’s offensive scheme. Regardless, this isn’t the best endorsement for the Bears new offensive coordinator. Nevertheless, the games must be played, and Shane Waldron played a crucial role in revitalizing QB Geno Smith, leading to a notable resurgence in his career over the last couple seasons. Although Waldron isn’t solely responsible for this improvement, his contribution cannot be ignored. JSN also showed support for Justin Fields, joining many other players throughout the league who’ve done the same. After watching this video, I find myself torn between questioning JSN or Shane Waldron more. Only time will tell.
