Michael Bublé Shared Psilocybin Mushroom Story at NHL All-Star Game, and Fans Were Perplexed

Grammy Award-winning singer Michael Bublé took the stage at the NHL’s All-Star festivities in Toronto on Thursday, where a press conference about his serving as co-captain of Team Hughes in Sunday’s game veered in a strange direction when he relayed a story about taking psilocybin mushrooms.

While it’s likely that Bublé was joking about consuming the hallucinogenic fungi, his anecdote was Hall of Fame worthy.

The question that was asked began with questions about Bublé’s fantasy hockey league, and then he let loose.

“Matt, I’m in more than one hockey league,” Bublé told the reporter. “In the LHL, which I’m in with you, I happen to be in fifth place. Even though I had no first overall pick, first pick even, I didn’t even have a first-rounder. And I still did what I had to do because of my genius. Second, I am first place in the FHL, [my] other fantasy hockey league.

”Third, my buddy told me, ‘This is just a microdose of mushrooms.’ And he was lying. So, I’ll be honest, I thought I was in Blades of Glory for most of the time that I was out there until it sort of settled down. And then I realized, ‘Holy s---. I am at the NHL All-Star Game.’”

As to be expected, NHL fans were taken aback by Bublé’s tale. Here are some of the best reactions to the singer’s incredible press conference:

Ultimately, one observer noted that Bublé’s yarn is almost certainly too good to be true. The singer noted as much with a comment on Instagram.
